It is thanks to the generosity of our volunteers that the Network of Women in Business has continued to thrive for 30 years. Listed below are volunteer opportunities within the Network for 2012. Please consider donating your time to our organization.
If you have a special talent, a flair for event planning, hosting meetings, facilitating discussions or just want to hone some of your networking skills or increase your general business savvy, we invite you to participate on one of our committees or consider a board position. The 2012 Board Election will close on December 16, 2011, but we are always seeking energetic individuals to work with us on our committees. Consider volunteering today! President* - Guides the organization according to vision and mission. Responsibilities include management of the group, facilitating Board meetings, planning, change management and promoting the Network in the community. Oversees all committee activity.
Vice President* - Responsible for assisting the President. Oversees all event planning activities and Special Interest Groups. The Vice President may assume the role of President in the next calendar year.
Programming Chairs - Report to Vice President, heads related programming efforts and sets event budgets. There are three programming chairs that oversee different areas. The three chairs will work with the Vice President to coordinate NOWIB programming schedule.
Treasurer* - Provides financial guidance, manages the financials for the Network, including the oversight of revenue and expenses, to ensure financial viability.
Secretary* - Scribes and distributes minutes for board meetings, sends out meeting notices and reminders.
Special Interest Group Chair* - Serves as liaison between the Board and Special Interest Group Leaders. Works directly with SIG leaders to ensure meetings are fulfilling the needs of attendees.
Director of Marketing* - Oversees/directs all internal and external communications, keep the image and brand of the network consistent. Promotes the Network within the community, manages media relations and web site.
Sponsorship Chair* - Solicits & secures sponsorships for the Network for annual, monthly and special events.
Membership Chair* - Works to solicit new members, retain current members and on the development and implementation of a membership strategy; Maintains all membership records.

Membership Committee: Assists the Membership Chairperson. Works to solicit new members, retain current members through member relations activities, and helps maintain all membership records.
Programming Committee: Assists Programming chair with planning special events.
Sponsorship Committee: Reports to Sponsorship Chair. Assists in the solicitation and management of Sponsors.
Marketing Committee: Reports to Marketing and Communications Chair. Collaborates on e-newsletter, various collateral pieces, event notifications and assists with web site maintenance.
